First Friday featuring Emily Collins

  • EDEN Cafe & Bakeshop 242 Ellicott Street Batavia, NY, 14020 United States (map)

🎨 Join us for our upcoming First Friday Art Show featuring the works of Emily Collins! Held on May 3rd from 5:30-7 PM, this event offers a chance to explore Emily’s captivating art and connect with the local art scene.

“In exploring my inner landscape, I gain a deeper understanding of the world around me. In observing the world around me, I uncover truths about myself.

Through mixed media collage, I discuss themes of introspection, intuition, transpersonal love, the poignancy of the human experience and the interconnectedness of everything. Alongside these topics, I am engaged in an ongoing exploration of womanhood and its many facets.

I create colorfully riotous scenes with recycled paper and found objects that are inspired by the wild beauty of nature. A forest at first glance is unkempt, asymmetrical, lush with life and also death. A closer look reveals countless interdependent relationships that point to universal intellegence. There is value and meaning in the mess. I hope my collages invite viewers to take a closer look, and to continue to discover new elements, dimensions and symbols.” - Emily Collins
